Pirate Zach Rombach threw down a dunk on the Webster Tigers in the Grantsburg loss. Â
The Grantsburg Pirates boys’ basketball team hosted the Webster Tigers last Friday, Dec. 9 for a West Lakeland Conference matchup. Â
Webster came into the game with a 2-0 record and are coming off a 47-44 win at Shell Lake this past Tuesday, after a buzzer-beating 3-point shot by Ian McFaggen as time expired to win the game for the Tigers.Â
The Grantsburg Pirates are also 2-0 and are coming off a 51-45 win over Frederic at home on Tuesday, Dec. 6. Through most of the first half things were pretty even as the Tigers and Pirates were tied at 20 points apiece with two minutes before the half, but afterwards Webster went on a 7-0 run and took a 27-20 lead into half. In the second half Webster scored for the first 7 points to take a 34-20 lead. The Tigers kept the tempo up for the rest of the game and went on to win 57-41 over the Pirates. Â

Both Grantsburg and Webster contests slated for Tuesday, Dec. 13, were postponed due to weather and travel concerns. Â
