A local family has a very close connection to a talented young woman who could be called the best gymnast in Minnesota. Lily Pederson of White Bear Lake is going to be a junior this fall, and she continues to make waves in state and regional gymnastics.
Peterson is the granddaughter of Grantsburg’s Mariea Strait, who is also one of Lily’s biggest fans, and for good reason: Lily placed first in the All-Around at USAG Level 10 Nationals, with a score of 39.175. She also placed first on Beam with a score of 9.725. She placed second on Bars with a score of 9.850 and third on floor and vault, both with a score of 9.8.
