The Grantsburg Pirates girls’ basketball team played host to the Webster Tigers girls on Friday, Dec. 9 for a West Lakeland Conference basketball contest.Â
The Tigers came into the matchup with a 1-2 record on the season and Grantsburg entered with a 2-1 record. Webster played last Tuesday at Shell Lake, falling 49-41, and Grantsburg was coming off a 74-40 win over Frederic at home. The game started out close, as both teams were tied at 6 points apiece 4 minutes into the game. After that, things started to click for Grantsburg as they went on to take command of the game and headed into the half with a commanding 37-19 lead. Â
The second half was more of the same, as Grantsburg cruised to a 61-38 win over Webster.Â
