The Blizzard hockey team had a decisive win on the road in park Falls last Friday, Jan. 6, as they defeated the cooperative Chequamegon/Phillips/Butternut team by an 8-3 final.
The Blizzard were up 4-0 early in the second period, until the hometown boys scored a goal.
Six different Blizzard players scored: Landyn Randt, Frank Kief, Grayson Hendricks-Baxter, Landon Smestad, Ryder Anderson and Levi Anderson, who scored twice in the victory.
The Blizzard host two contests this week at the Lodge Center in Siren, beginning with Spooner on Tuesday, shortly after press time, and also on Thursday, Jan. 12 with the cooperative squad from Regis/Altoona/McDonell.
The season had a few postponements due to weather, but they are nearly back on track and have a current record of 3-8-0, with a 1-2 record in the Independents Conference.
