During the oval races, competitors do between 4 and 8 laps around the buoys, with at least one lap around the equalizer. Sports open ovals was a new class this year, won by Cofiell.
For the kids who attend Watercross, one of their favorite parts of the event is getting autographs from the racers. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, racers took time with their fans by the hay bails, signing autographs and taking photos. Kids would race over to try to be first in line after a race.
After the event had to be cancelled in 2020 due to COVID concerns, the Watercross was back in full swing this last weekend and enjoyed by many people of all ages.
