Jean Ellen Formanek passed away Dec. 21, 2022, in Hutchinson, KS. She was born June 20, 1939, in Estherville, IA, and was a 1957 graduate of Grantsburg High School.
Over the years Jean held positions at a the Chicago Sun Times, North States in Siren, and as a teachers’ aid in Grantsburg. Jean was a Jailer-Dispatcher at the Burnett County Sheriff’s office for 18 years which is where she met her husband Jim Formanek.
Always a Falun girl at heart, Jean was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Falun. Two of her most often used phrases were “too blessed to stress” and “I’m wrapped in prayer.”
Jean found enjoyment in fishing on Mudhen Lake, digging in the dirt, and spoiling her grandchildren and her many pets.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Corinne Shearman, her sister Ellen Von Rudenborg, her husband Jim Formanek, her step-son James Patrick Formanek, and her former spouse Keith Davidson.
Jean is survived by her brother Jim (Pat) Shearman of Hutchinson, KS, and her children James Robert (Donna) Davidson of Luck, and Karin Louise (Edward) Aulwes of Ocala, FL. She is also survived by her blended family Tim (Debbie) Maloney of Webster; David (Robyn) Formanek of Webster; Dennis (Laura) Formanek of Falun.
Jean is also survived by grandchildren Tracy Lynn (Maloney) Drier, Bryan James Maloney, Danielle Christine Formanek, Cassidy Marie Formanek, Joseph James Formanek, Daniel James (Dakota) Formanek, Sarah Jean Formanek, Joshua David Formanek, and great-grandchildren Adam Thomas Drier and Emilia Jane Maloney.
