Harold Lee McMahon

Harold Lee McMahon, age 79, of Webb Lake, passed away peacefully on Sept. 24th, 2021, after a long battle with dementia. An intelligent, quiet, and loving man who preferred to speak few words but when he did speak it was usually a witty retort or to provide the perfect solution to your problem.

Lee was born in Siren on Sept. 17, 1942, to Harold E. McMahon and Carol I. Merkle. He lived in Webb Lake during his childhood with his parents and grandparents (Henry and Selma Merkle) where they ran Roamer’s Resort. He attended Webster High School and went on to work for NCR as a computer technician. He married Dorothy A. Bryski (Dottie) in 1963 in Spooner. Eventually Lee and Dottie settled in White Bear Lake, Minn., and together they raised two children – Patrick and Dawn. After retiring early from NCR, he and Dottie moved back to Webb Lake where they remained.

After Dottie’s passing in 2014, he met Marty Janey who brought him love and companionship for the remainder of his years.

Lee was a Webb Lake fireman for over 20 years and also volunteered at church and community events. His love of electronics and ability to fix them, led him to maintaining the fire department radio equipment and being a part of the Skywarn group. Upon seeing a need in the community, he became certified as an EMT and worked on the ambulance service for many years as well.

He was most happy at home puttering in the garage, tinkering with electronics, and listening to the scanner.

Lee joined his wife, Dottie, nephew Jon Troost, sister-in-law Connie Fischer, and his parents Harold and Carol McMahon in heaven.

He leaves behind his son Patrick (Ann) McMahon, daughter Dawn (Todd) Mueller, sister Nancy (Chip) Troost, six grandchildren – Christian, Abby, Ben, Grace, Mary, and Will, Marty Janey plus many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Lakeside Community Lutheran Church, 28626 Co Rd H, Webster, WI 54893. Memorials are preferred to Webb Lake Area First Responders in his honor: Attn Marie Bernatz, Treasurer, 1826 Kessler Road, Danbury, WI 54830.
