ST. CROIX FALLS— Trash and the Namekagon River don’t mix. Because of its beauty and abundant recreational opportunities, higher river use means more garbage left behind. Join Wild Rivers Conservancy and friends for a river clean up on Saturday, Sept. 11, followed by a celebration for your hard work.
This free event is a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer service hours, families to spend time together outdoors, and friends to team up to help the Namekagon. All ages are welcome.
Festivities will kick off in Hayward at 9 a.m. Participants will then head to their designated location to clean up the river by land or water. Tools, trash bags, and snacks will be provided. Reunite on main street Hayward to celebrate giving back to your community with good brew from Angry Minnow, delicious food, fun prizes, and live music.
All trash will be properly disposed of by staff from the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway after the event.
Special thanks to Hayward Fly Fishing Company, Patagonia, Angry Minnow Brewing Company, Simms, and the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring this event.
