Medical condition leads to crash on Hwy 70

A medical condiiton is believed to be behind a car crash off State Road 70 on Sunday, Oct. 16 that led to two injuries.

While the report wasn’t available yet, Burnett County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) officials have summarized the background on a serious car crash that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 16 in Falun on State Highway 70. The crash was reported by a car satellite system at 7:27 p.m. on State Highway 70 in Falun near the Bait Shop. Dispatch used Highway 70 and County Road W as the nearest intersection. According to the BCSO, two ambulances and three deputies responded. A husband and wife were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. It is believed that the driver experienced a medical emergency which contributed to their vehicle striking a tree.  Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for care. The condition of the two occupants is unknown, but the investigation continues. The full report will come at a later date.
