Webster– Applications for the 2023 Benson Ace Helpful Place Scholarships are due April 4. Benson Ace Hardware makes $500 scholarships available to two Class of 23 seniors at both Webster High School and Frederic High School. Eligible students have a minimum 2.5 grade point average and will work as a skilled trades intern/apprentice or enroll in a technical school program. Skilled trades examples include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, engine/auto repair, welding, and construction.
Benson Ace began its scholarship program with the Class of 2020. The store awards scholarships by drawing names from completed one-page applications.
“We are committed to helping support the next generation of area students who are establishing their careers in the trades,” said store owner Stefan Benson.
Interested seniors can obtain an application from the Webster or Frederic counseling offices, or online at Benson-Ace.com. Scholarship checks are issued to recipients following 90 days of confirmed technical/trade school attendance, or 90 days of confirmed employment as an intern or apprentice.
