Tigers 'no hit' Lakers

SHELL LAKE-Jack Washburn and Trevor Gustafson combined efforts for a no-hit shut-out over the Shell Lake Lakers on Monday night, 8-0.

Washburn went five innings, walking three and striking out seven. Gustafson pitched the final two, walking none and striking out four.

The Tigers got the only run they needed in the second inning. Gustafson got on base and moved to second on two Laker errors. He moved to third on a ground out and came home on a Laker error.

Five runs were scored by the Tigers in the fourth. Coleton Peterson got on via an error. Matt Buffington got a walk. Tanner Pardun reached base on an error. Carsen Stenberg, Owen Washburn and Jack Washburn all singled.

Two insurance runs were added in the sixth inning.

Jack Washburn had the hot bat, going four for five from the plate with four singles and an RBI.

Carsen Stenberg was two for four with two RBI's.

After traveling to Braham on Tuesday, the Tigers host Unity on Friday, Northwestern on Monday and go to Grantsburg on Tuesday.
