Siren’s Morgan Shetler puts up a shot in the paint against Turtle Lake on Friday.

The Siren girls’ basketball team were close to advancing to the sectional final, but they lost to Turtle Lake in overtime 41-40.

Siren started the season very strong, but due to COVID-19 protocols they had many games postponed. That resulted in the team having to play seven games in 15 days to finish the season.

The Dragons finished the season with a 15-6 overall record and 7-3 in the Lakeland-West conference, which was good enough to finish second in the conference behind Unity.

Turtle Lake went on to play Prairie Farm in the sectional final and lost 72-42.
