SIREN – The final chance at a regular season home win is this Thursday for the WSFLG boys co-op hockey team.
The Blizzard host Amery before their regular season finale on Thursday. Their most recent try at a home win was on Feb. 4 and ended with a 4-2 win for Ashland.
WSFLG took the game’s first lead with a goal from Dane Jensen less than 90 seconds into the game. Ross Anderson and Dane Tollander assisted on the score, though the Oredockers had the lead less than five minutes later.
Jack Santini tied the game with a goal for Ashland just over four minutes into the first period and Tanner Nelson added a second goal a minute later to give the Oredockers a 2-1 lead.
Colin Trautt gave Ashland a 3-1 lead with a power play goal a minute into the second period and he scored another early in the third period, putting the Oredockers up 4-1. Carter Johnson scored the Blizzard’s second goal with assists from Ross Anderson and Will Gerber.
Ashland finished with a 45-19 advantage in shots and denied the Blizzard on four of their five power plays. Cashton Kapp had 41 saves for WSFLG, which dropped to 0-16 on the season.
