Drummond gets by Siren boys in hoop action

SIREN—In a tightly contested non-conference game on Monday night, the Drummond Lumberjacks got by the Siren Dragons 47-42.

The first half ended with only a one point lead by the 'Jacks, 24-23. Siren was led by Charlie Brown with eight and Andrew Brown had seven. Paul Walters put in eight, Cole DeChant had six, as did Doug Wickingson (two three-pointers) to end the half.

The Lumberjacks spread its lead to 37-31 at the end of three. Five different players scored in that period. Elijah Hinze tallied a three pointer to help the Siren cause.

In the fourth frame, the Lumberjacks went to the charity stripe 20 times, but made only eight. They had just one bucket in that frame. Luke Bollant had four points for the Dragons.

For the night, Doug Wickingson had 13 for Drummond and Paul Walters chipped in with 10 for Drummond.

For Siren, Charlie Brown and Elijah Hinze had nine apiece. Christian Hall and Andrew Brown each added seven.
