BURNETT COUNTY SHERIFF

Accidents

•June 4, Robert M. Zilla, Hastings, MN, was southbound on Kilkare Rd. near Co. Rd. A when he lost control of his motorcycle when he drove on the shoulder and lay the cycle down. One injury was reported.

•June 6, Lisa M. Baier, Webster, was northbound on Kruger Rd. near Pike Bend Rd. when she lost control on a curve, slid off the road and overturned. One injury was reported.

•June 7, Thomas H. Desjardins, Egeland, ND, was westbound on Co. Rd. C near Seiben Rd. when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and hit a tree. No injuries were reported. He was arrested and cited for operating while intoxicated.

•June 8, Richard A. Wycoski, Grantsburg, struck a utility pole when leaving a parking lot in Falun after looking at a for-sale item. He was later arrested for a probation hold and was cited for hit and run and failing to report an accident to police.

Incidents

•June 2, Joann C. Lindner, Siren, was arrested on a Polk County warrant.

•June 2, Bradley G. Corrier, Grantsburg, was arrested and cited for domestic battery following a physical altercation with a former girlfriend at his house.

•June 4, Michael Kegel, Siren, was arrested on outstanding warrants.

The following incidents are under investigation:

•June 4, Ronald M. Nevin, Grantsburg, reported the pontoon battery had been stolen from his boat.

•June 4, John R. Wildsmith, Webster, reported his garage had been broken into. It is unknown if anything is missing.

COURT

Criminal

Operating While Intoxicated-fifth-plus offense

•James V. Hedberg, 54, Danbury, pleaded no contest, was sentenced to three years prison, three years extended supervision, had his license revoked for three years, must seek alcohol assessment and was fined $1,434.

Disorderly Conduct

•Jennifer L. Williams, 26, Luck, pleaded no contest and was fined $249.

Obstructing an Officer

•Joe E. Acon, 40, St. Paul, MN, pleaded no contest, was sentenced to one year probation, must seek alcohol assessment and was fined $88.

Issuing a Worthless Check

•Howard L. Brutsman, 48, Osceola, pleaded no contest and was fined $494.76, which includes restitution. Two additional counts were dismissed.

•Michael J. Holden, 23, Red Wing, MN, pleaded no contest and was fined $113.

•Sonya R. Ketcham, 24, St. Croix Falls, pleaded no contest and was fined $249.

•Samantha R. Schwartzbauer, 21, Grantsburg, pleaded no contest and was fined $249.

Dismissed Charges

•Andrew J. Kretlow, 22, Pine City, possession of drug paraphernalia.

•Jason R. Casey, 37, Danbury, pleaded no contest and was fined $160.80.

Seat belt violation

•Peggy L. Skrogstad, 50, Burnsville, MN, pleaded no contest and was fined $160.80.

•Sharon J. Pierce, 72, Pine City, MNN, pleaded no contest and was fined $160.80.

GRANTSBURG POLICE

•June 5, Jim Halvorson, Grantsburg, reported the theft of two boxes of siding from his residence.

•June 6, Jason Konz, Grantsburg, was northbound on North Oak St. when he ran into the back of a semi-trailer truck. Konz complained of minor injuries.

•June 7, Jennifer Hansen, Grantsburg and Joyce Kerssen, Scandia, collided on South Russell St. No injuries were reported.

•June 8, Jonathon Williams, Grantsburg, reported criminal damage to property after he found several scratches on his vehicle.

•June 8, police responded to a fight at the Rendezvous Bar in the early morning hours. No arrests were made.

SIREN POLICE

•May 28, Robert T. Forsha, 45, Eagan, MN, will, unless he makes arrangements to re-pay, be charged with theft after he pumped $24.82 in gas at Auto Stop and drove off.

•June 2, Adam J. Gustafson, 19, Baldwin, was cited for seat belt violation.

•June 2, Thomas P. Webb, 60, Washington, IL, was cited for seat belt violation.

•June 2, Dennis S. St. Sauver, 61, Siren, was cited for speeding.

•June 4, Carl P. Erb, Jr., 70, Maplewood, MN, was cited for speeding.

•June 5, Paul L. Metzger, 27, Hudson, was cited for seat belt violation.

•June 6, Jennifer A. Schiefelbein, 24, Sun Prairie, was cited for speeding.

POLK COUNTY

Accidents

•At 1:17 p.m. May 18, Arleen R. Growt, 81, Luck, lost control on the curve of State Road 48 near 160th Street, as she was eastbound, and hit the corner posts, a ditch and then a tree. The driver was transported by EMS.

•At 2:58 p.m. May 26, Trevor A. Otto, 32, Frederic, was westbound on Clam Falls Drive in Clam Falls Township. His vehicle left the road and traveled into the south ditch. It hit several trees before coming to rest in a creek bed. The driver stated he thought he fell asleep. He was cited for operating under the influence, failure to maintain control, and expired registration. The driver was seriously injured and was transported by EMS.

•At midnight, May 31, Kelly J. Johnson, 18, Luck, was northbound on County GG. The driver states she hit the gravel on the east shoulder of the road and the vehicle entered the ditch. The vehicle struck two mailboxes causing damage. The vehicle came to rest in the east ditch and was pulled out by the driver. The driver was cited for failure to notify police of an accident.

•May 27, Frederic High School Principal Raymond Draxler reported a vehicle had damaged the lawn at the Frederic High School.

•May 30, Ronald W. Hook, St. Paul, MN and rural Cushing, reported someone had entered his garage and took a Minkota 44 HP rolling motor.
