Duwayne “Dewey” Allen Logeland, 89, passed away at Brown County Health & Living Community on May 5, 2019. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on November 18, 1929 to Joseph and Olga (Johnson) Logeland in Dawson, Minnesota.

He is preceded in passing by his wife, Muriel (Lockert) Logeland in 1972, his parents, and his brother, Rodney Logeland.

Dewey was survived by his children, Pamela Joe Peterson (Roger), Patricia Meyer (Rodney), Richard Logeland, and Nancy Mann; grandchildren, Jessie, Kasey, Kyle, Karn, Ryan, and Jak; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Connie Shirley, and sister-in-law, Edith Logeland. 

He attended schools in Dawson. He actively served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Dewey was a self-employed electrician. He worked with Morgan Horses for over 50 years breeding, training and showing them.

He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge, No. 107 F&AM and also a member of the Indianapolis Murat Shrine. He was a member of the Franklin American Legion, Post 205 and a member of the American Legion in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Dewey was also a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars. Dewey enjoyed horses and dancing.

A Celebration of Dewey’s Life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends and family may call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
