The Webster Village Board was told within the next week the process of painting the village water tower will begin.
Public Works Director Jay Heyer explained to the board at their September meeting that the crew is currently painting the Frederic water tower.
“When they finish down there, they’ll come up here. Should be within the next week and a half,” Heyer told the board.
Heyer told the board back in June the water tower will need to be brought down for painting. While the tower is being painted there will be no storage. This will result in “wasting” 365,000 gallons of water per day.
The village will be bringing in a portable tank from CTW Corporation. It will act like a mini water tower holding 5,000 gallons of water. The estimate from CTW was for $10,700.
Heyer said he believes two or three coats of paint will be added to the inside of the tower and three coats of paint will be painted on the outside of the tower.
