SOFTEC celebrated their first graduation of 2020 recently and graduates were presented with legislative citations.
State Representative Nick Milroy was in Siren last week for the graduation ceremony on Jan. 31.
Milroy shared his thoughts on the ceremony on Facebook.
“I had the great privilege of presenting legislative citations to recent graduates of the SOFTEC (SOFTECEducation.org) heavy equipment operator training in Siren,” Milroy wrote. “This innovative program provides life changing opportunities to communities in rural Wisconsin. The fast track program has proven results of getting people quickly employed into the construction trades with excellent salaries and benefits. This is training that should be modeled statewide. Congratulations to the recent graduates and all of the folks that have made this program a success.”
SOFTEC’s executive director Tim D’Jock added, “We will continue to provide opportunity of hope.”
