Siren officials are pleased with the relationship the village has with the new Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch. Finch spoke with the Siren village board for about 10 minutes last week and received thanks from a number of trustees.
“Well, I would like to thank all of you for getting Siren PD involved with the traffic grants,” Finch said. “We’re getting out there and slowing people down, getting them to buckle up and getting drugs off the streets with traffic stops.”
Trustee David Doty personally thanked Finch for her efforts on working together and sharing resources with the village.
“I want to thank you for what you’ve done so far with the department,” Doty said. “I’ve sat on public safety for 12 years and this is the best the relationship between both parties has been.”
“It’s just nice to see the village and county working together,” Trustee Rick Engstrom said. “It hasn’t always been like that.”
Finch then added, “if we work together we can make Burnett County a better place.”
“It’s good for everyone to be on the same page,” village president Dave Alden said. “What you’re doing in the county is a great thing and we’re very proud to be a part of it.”
