The ballot is set for the general election in April. Grantsburg voters will have a choice between Rod Kleiss and Terry Kucera for their next village president.
Kleiss, the former airport manager, received 44 votes and Kucera, of Grantsburg Telcom, collected 100 votes in the Feb. 16 election.
Village Trustee Diane Barton was also on the ballot. She came in third after receiving 22 votes.
These results are the unofficial election night vote totals.
A total of 165 ballots were cast in the primary election. Kleiss and Kucera will face off in the general election on April 6.
Voter turnout was understandable down from the November 2020 U.S. Presidential election when the voter turnout was over 80% of registered voters casting a ballot.
Election night voting statistics, released by the County Clerk office, show just 13% of eligible voters cast their ballot in this race.
State Superintendent Race
In the statewide election for superintendent of public instruction, Deborah Kerr and Jill Underly were the top two-vote getters in the field of seven candidates.
Kerr is a former superintendent in Brown Deer and Underly is the Pecatonica Area School District Superintendent.
Kerr and Underly will go head to head in the April 6 general election.
