Grantsburg gets sidewalks; sewer replacement
Work is currently underway
By Byron Higgin

A sewer, sidewalk and pavement project is underway in Grantsburg.

A sidewalk replacement plan approved by the Village of Grantsburg Board of Trustees is now in action for South Pine and South Oak Street.

New sidewalks are currently being constructed.

“Rodney (Meyer, village maintenance director) suggested several areas that needed sidewalk replacement,” said Village President Mark Dahlberg.

This project will be assessed to property owners.

The Grantsburg Village Board also warded a bid of $295,829.75 to McCabe Construction of Eau Claire for work on the 2008 Street and Utility Improvements project in July.

This week McCabe construction began working on Pine Street in front of the Post Office bulding.

McCabe was awarded a bid of $65,000 from Monarch Paving Company of Turtle Lake for asphalt paving removal and pavement.

At this time sewer lines are being installed.
